Questions, answered

The things people ask us most about checking brokers and staying safe.

Is this broker a scam?
Type its name or website into the checker on our home page. If it’s on our register you’ll see it flagged, with the red flags we found and a link to its full entry. If it isn’t listed, that doesn’t mean it’s safe — use our Spot-a-Scam checklist and report it.
Is AskCheck free?
Yes. AskCheck is completely free, needs no sign-up, and we never charge to check or report a broker.
Does “not on the register” mean a broker is safe?
No. New scams appear every day and no register can list them all. A not-listed result just means we don’t have a record yet — always do your own checks and report anything suspicious.
Can you help me get my money back?
No. AskCheck is a checker and public register, not a recovery service. We don’t recover funds and we can’t guarantee recovery. Be very cautious of anyone who promises to recover your money for an up-front fee.
How do you decide what to flag?
Entries come from regulator warnings and broker-review data, plus moderated community reports. For each broker we show the concrete red flags in the record rather than an invented score. See our How-we-vet page.
How is AskCheck related to SentFunds?
SentFunds is the public register of record. AskCheck is the free checker and community-reporting front door: flagged results link straight through to the full SentFunds entry.
I was scammed — what should I do right now?
Stop sending money, gather your evidence (statements, chat logs, transaction IDs), report it to your regulator and local police, and add a report here so others are warned. Don’t pay anyone promising guaranteed recovery.
